Brass & Thread
Why we still cast our anchor buttons in solid brass and what that means for the way a tunic falls.
A pressed-metal button is lighter, cheaper and shinier on the day it arrives. A solid brass button — anchor-stamped, hand-finished — is none of those things. It is heavier. It catches the light differently. And it weights the front of a tunic exactly the way the cut was drafted to expect.
When you remove the weight, the tunic stops sitting right. So we have never removed the weight.
